Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from London

The Short Version

I go by Liam Carter, based in London, and for several years I have documented my experiences at gyms across United Kingdom.

This site came about after I grew tired of selecting fitness centers based on advertisements and vague recommendations, only to find that the reality differed from expectations. I wanted precise, honest details about what these places were actually like. Since I could not locate that, I decided to create it.

Over a dozen Gyms Visited
Three Years Active
More than 200 Classes Attended

How This Started

My training routine began at a modest gym near 5 Fitness Crescent in London. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was reachable, affordable, and helped me maintain consistency.

When that gym closed, I noticed how quickly the fitness scene in United Kingdom was evolving. New clubs opened, fresh concepts appeared, and marketing often overshadowed the actual member experience.

I began testing various gyms and classes, taking notes after each visit. Over time those notes evolved into this site, created to help others make clearer decisions.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review on this site comes from real visits and the actual time spent inside the club. I prioritize practical details that matter when choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Allocate enough time to understand routines, peak hours, and patterns
  • Visit on multiple days and at different times
  • Experiment with more than one training format and instructor
  • Regularly use amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Talk to other members about what remains consistent and what doesn’t
  • Take notes promptly after each visit

I update reviews when circumstances change significantly: renovations, management changes, pricing adjustments, or new facilities. Each article shows its last update date so you know how current the information is.

What I Look For

My priorities might differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without constant waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in London. This project exists to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people seeking the right environment.
